Geometry measuring system GMS-S receives patent protection

MSG Maschinenbau GmbH has been granted patent protection for its GMS-S (Straightness) geometry measuring system for measuring the straightness/twist of long rods, tubes and profiles. The special feature of the measuring system is the detection of the overall straightness without the shape distortion caused by the dead weight. The measurement result of the system is comparable with the measurement in weightlessness.

As one of the first companies, [VDM Metals](https://www.vdm-metals.com/de/) from Altena has successfully integrated the GMS-S into their production. It is now possible to ensure a fully objective measurement of straightness for both internal production optimization and product quality certification.
